Ode to the Orchard, c. 1870

Sleeps 4 | Bedrooms 2 | Bathrooms 1

Sitting high up on the hill overlooking sixteen acres of farmland, with picturesque views over apple orchards and the small hamlet of Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills, Ode to the Orchard is a cosy, curated cottage with a rustic feel. It’s a place to unwind and adopt a slower pace of life, and your host, Romany, encourages this by way of providing her own apple crumble recipe and ingredients, ready for you to bake in the wood-fired Aga. The only thing you need to decide is whether to bring double cream, or icecream!

The cottage has a beautiful stone facade, typical of South Australian heritage architecture and is one of the original buildings in the area. There are two queen bedrooms with sumptuous bedding, and a cozy lounge with leather sofas and wood fire. A cot is also available if you’re travelling with little ones. There’s a separate dining room, with seating for six and the kitchen is fully equipped, including coffee machine with pods provided.

The cottage has front and back verandahs to sit and enjoy the surrounding countryside and spot some kangaroos or black cockatoos. A special feature is the private, outdoor clawfoot bath tub with magical views. Enjoy a hot bubble bath with glass of wine under the stars. Bliss.
